Barcelonano longer seem to be a team that rely purely on their strikers to fire them to victory, although there is no denying that both Lionel Messi and Neymar almost always tend to be involved. Barça's array of attacking options has seen 16 different players get on the scoresheet in their 24 matches so far this campaign.
There has been much talk of dependence on Messi and equally of the midfield's limited contribution, given that not enough goals were coming from the middle of the park to lift the continued burden from the shoulders of the forwards. That tendency is now changing, however, with recent matches providing various examples of a more balanced goalscoring side.
There have, of course, been occasions when players such as Neymar and Messi have all but sealed victories by themselves. The Brazilian's brace in the 2-0 win over Athletic de Bilbao and the Argentine's double away to Ajax to guarantee Barça's passage into the Champions League last 16 serve as fitting examples.
Other players have had their moments where decisive contributions have clinched crucial victories. Sandro scored the only goal at El Madrigal back in August, Gerard Piqué did the same against APOEL in the first Champions League group match and Sergio Busquets was in the right place at the right time to grab a stoppage-time winner at the Mestalla in late November
